Geoheritage Expert Group Webinar Series | Session 2: Geoheritage for tourism

EGS Geoheritage Expert Group is organizing a series of webinars about the contribution of geological surveys to geoconservation. The purpose of this series of webinars is to present showcases of activities, initiatives and projects from the European Geological Surveys to contribute to the conservation and proper sustainable management of relevant geological features.

Save the date for the second webinar on 17th April at 15:00hrs (CET) entitled “Geoheritage for tourism”.

In this session 3 keynotes speakers will address the following themes:

  • The broken mountain: Geoheritage related to the Mt. Vettore surface faulting. Elisa Brustia, Italian Geological Survey (ISPRA)
  • Fulufjället National Park – why are there so many rocks? Linda Wickström, Swedish Geological Survey (SGU)
  • Threats and opportunities for geological heritage at key tourism sites: examples form the Giant’s Casueway World Heritage Site. Kirstin Lemon, British Geological Survey (BGS/GSNI)
