NGWM2024

For the 36^th time, geologists from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden will gather for the biennial Nordic Geological Winter Meeting. The meeting comes ‘back’ to Gothenburg where the very first NGWM was held in 1954!

This biennial gathering brings together geologists from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. NGWM continues to be a crucial event for earth scientists across the Nordic region, providing a platform to meet, interact, and share the latest research. The NGWM program spans three days (10-12 January 2024) of open general sessions covering all aspects of geosciences, including special sessions on designated topics. While traditionally an academic forum, we encourage geologists in the industry and students to attend.

Under the motto of “Geology for Society,” NGWM seeks to address the growing public interest in the discipline. Timely topics such as critical raw materials, groundwater shortages, and more will be explored.
