Webinars: SER’s International Principles and Standards for the Ecological Restoration and Recovery of Mine Sites
16/11/2022 - 08:00 › 17:00
| Online
The Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) is pleased to announce the publication of the foundational International Principles and Standards for the Ecological Restoration and Recovery of Mine Sites, a first-of-its-kind framework with standards for socially and environmentally responsible restoration in global mining activities.
These standards are designed to inspire and drive better restoration outcomes in mining landscapes while supporting the mining industry and stakeholders — including Indigenous peoples and local communities — to address the unique challenges of ecological restoration in mined lands. They come at a time of unparalleled global human impacts, where climate change, land degradation, and biodiversity loss threaten the ecological fabric of the planet.
In two webinar sessions, key authors involved with the development of this landmark document will briefly introduce the standards and discuss their implications for stakeholders involved in mine restoration. Register now to learn more!
