The GREENPEG Consortium would like to invite you to participate to the International Conference: ‘Sourcing the European energy transition from domestic resources – vision or wishful thinking?’ that the HORIZON 2020 GREENPEG project has organised in cooperation with the Swedish Mining Association SVEMIN and the European Technology Platform on Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR). Please find the program enclosed.
We are pleased to count with the participation of distinguished guests such as Maria Nyberg, Policy Officer DG GROW, Anders Sand, Research Manager, Boliden as well as Katarina Nilsson (President ETP SMR), Maria Sunér (CEO / VD SVEMIN) and Julie Hollis (Secretary General, EuroGeoSurveys). Their key notes and contributions will introduce Europe’s raw materials supply security, in the context of its economically viable raw material potential and of current geopolitics. The invited speakers and participants will examine the challenging present and future framework conditions for mining projects and their downstream value chain (regulation, financing, permitting). There will also be a session dedicated to the cooperation of the EU with Africa, which highlights opportunities and challenges by private exploration enterprises and bilateral research partnerships with EU surveys. Right after the Critical Raw Materials Act publication, this conference will be a very timely dialogue opportunity for the various stakeholders to discuss about its implementation.
The conference will take place at the University of Uppsala on the 25th of April, followed by a site visit, on the 26th, to the Bergby Lake Lithium Project from United Lithium.
*PLEASE use the registration link. The participation to the Conference is free of charge!
