As Europe moves toward climate neutrality and greater strategic autonomy, geological knowledge is more important than ever. The new EuroGeoSurveys video highlights how our daily lives are closely connected to geology, even if many people are not aware of it. Geological expertise supports many of the systems that sustain modern society, from managing drinking water resources to developing safe CO₂ storage solutions.

A permanent, coordinated Geological Service for Europe is essential to deliver the knowledge, data, and scientific expertise needed to support Europe’s sustainable development and the implementation of related policies across the continent.
